Obama finally hammers McCain over privatizing Social Security…

Posted on: September 20, 2008

Obama can nail the Presidency if he ties McCain to Bush and putting Social Security in the hands of a broken Wall St.

CNN:

It’s a debate over the program that could resurface as a major issue in the closing weeks of the campaign given the wild swings in financial markets.

“If my opponent had his way, the millions of Floridians who rely on it would’ve had their Social Security tied up in the stock market this week. Millions would’ve watched as the market tumbled and their nest egg disappeared before their eyes,” he said.

“I know Sen. McCain is talking about a ‘casino culture’ on Wall Street — but the fact is, he’s the one who wants to gamble with your life savings and that is not going to happen when I’m president. When I’m president, we’re not going to gamble with Social Security.”

Keep it up, Barack and Joe.  McCain and Falin will have no response to this other than negative attacks and they are already being demonized for their low-road tactics.  There is no way that Harriet Quayle will be able to make a cohesive argument against McCain’s support for reckless privatization of SS..

Obama doesn’t know what the hell he is talking about. Case in point, Social Security would be invested in Government bonds, not the damn stock market. Further, if it was in the stock market, it would be managed in a way to protect the investment. Example, my retirement fund on Monday lost almost $8,000. By the end of the week, I had made $2,000. And this is a conservative fund. Barack, you need to go back to school and learn a little bit about economics and finance.
