This will be Palin’s October surprise:

JUNEAU, Alaska — Alaska’s investigation into whether Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power, a potentially damaging distraction for John McCain’s presidential campaign, ran into intensified resistance Tuesday when the attorney general said state employees would refuse to honor subpoenas in the case.

In a letter to state Sen. Hollis French, the Democrat overseeing the investigation, Republican Attorney General Talis Colberg asked that the subpoenas be withdrawn. He also said the employees would refuse to appear unless either the full state Senate or the entire Legislature votes to compel their testimony.

Colberg, who was appointed by Palin, said the employees are caught between their respect for the Legislature and their loyalty to the governor, who initially agreed to cooperate with the inquiry but has increasingly opposed it since McCain chose her as his running mate.

Facts are neither liberal nor conservative, Republican or Democrat.  Palin originally agreed to cooperate with the troopergate investigation and if she had nothing to hide then there is nothing to fear.  However, as the unfavorable facts fall out of the gaffer taped closet, she is now hiding behind allegations of partisanship.  The Republican controlled board voted to proceed with this investigation.  I guess giggling at cancer jokes and guffawing at your political adversaries being called a bitch on shock-jock talk shows doesn’t endear you very much to your own party.

Yep! Sorry Obama! Looks like the Wootengate won’t turn into Watergate! Too bad those hacked e-mails didn’t churn up anything juicy either. Oh well, the Democrats should quit while they’re behind. They better stop attacking Palin and concentrate on winning this election, because Barack’s numbers are slipping in New York. If Barack loses New York, he can kiss his Presidential bid goodbye. McCain/Palin ’08!

Sorry to disappoint, but it looks like Welfare Queen Palin’s Wootengate is gaining traction. Particularly as the last straw in the firing of Monaghan was because he wanted to do something about Alaska’s standing as the rape capital of America and Falin didn’t.

All Falin had to do was stand by her word and cooperate with the investigate, but she has been lying and confabulating, and now this matter has become a lot more than people like you want it to be.

I love the grasping at straws about Obama’s numbers slipping in NY. One poll of opaque repute gives Obama a five point lead over McCain, but that poll was taken FIVE days ago before McCain had a chance to fail on the economy this week.

Keep dreaming!
